Bathing: for some a splashing adventure, for others a struggle with every drop. And honestly: as a parent, you sometimes have to pull quite a few tricks out of the hat to keep the bath ritual a bit cozy in the bathroom. But guess what? It can be fun. In fact: it can even become one of the nicest moments of the day – for your child and for you.
5 tips for a bath ritual that really makes you happy
Tip 1: Toys with a mission
Get rid of that six-year-old plastic bath duck. Time for fresh, sustainable bath toys that are just as fun for your child as for the planet. Think of boats made from recycled wood or chewable veggies made from natural rubber. Your bathroom doesn’t have to become a toy store – a few smart choices already make a difference. Pro tip: a few water cups or a colander from your kitchen also work wonders.
Tip 2: Let the child take control
Children love it when they get to be ‘the boss’ for a while. So switch roles: let your little one decide how the ritual goes (within reasonable limits, of course). Let them wash your hair, choose a song together, or give them their own sponge with “bath captain” status. Bonus: this secretly works great against those eternal ‘I don’t want to take a bath!’ moments.
Tip 3: No rush, no stress
A bath ritual is not a race against time. Rushing is rarely chill – especially not in a splashing bathroom. Plan it as a real moment of calm, and make it part of the evening. No deadline, no stress, just together in the moment. Your child feels that, and so do you.
Tip 4: Make it cozy
Some lights, calm music, and voilà: instant atmosphere. Don’t just fill the bath, make it a mini experience. Prepare a bathrobe, choose a nice scent (we say: subtle & natural), and make sure the bathroom is nice and warm. Even cuddly toys in a basket with a ‘spa experience’ can make a difference. It doesn’t have to be big – just mindful.
Tip 5: Foam without junk
Children love foam, but many foam baths are full of junk. We at Happy Earth don't do that. Our Baby & Kids Bath Foam foams well, smells wonderful, and is free from microplastics, SLS, and other unnecessary stuff. And yes – it really foams, without you having to worry about what ends up on that delicate baby skin.
How much foam do you want? You set the pace. More foam? Add it at the beginning. Prefer a little less? Do it later and gently mix it through the water. Bubble party guaranteed.
